Using the AICT VPN gateway

AICT has a Virtual Private Network (VPN) gateway. VPNs are a technology which permits you to safely transmit any kind of network traffic down a tunnel to a remote location. In practice, this means that users whose connection is filtered by their ISP (like telus), users who are travelling, or users who do not wish to have their connection interfered (to name a few uses) with can get access to campus computing resources as if they were on campus.

Note: The requirement to browse through the University VPN is using the University DNS (name.ualberta.ca at 129.128.5.233 or nom.ualberta.ca at 129.128.76.233).
